The Day in the Life of a Bench

The bench beside Baggot Street Bridge gets many and varied visitors. This film captures some of the people that passed by and others that used the bench. Joggers, tourists, dog walkers, couples out for a stroll, smokers, children and people just taking some time out all take a rest on the bench.

Music by kind permission of Cormac Phelan. Listen to more of his music at bandcamp.com

Filmed using time-lapse on June 21st 2010, the longest day of the year.

The original video had to be removed as there were some objections from a couple at the start on privacy grounds.  I was left with a stark choice of either taking it down myself or letting YouTube take it down. Unfortunately YouTube don’t have the facility like Vimeo where you can replace the video. All the same over 7,000 views in less than 24 hrs is not to bad, even if I had to take it down. The re-edit does not take away too much from the over all video.
